Nba Team Owners List
Nba Team Owners List

For months, I've been running my own team in our custom NBA Fantasy League. Until early November, I had no idea how the Fantasy League NBA works. One of my friends at work created a custom league on yahoo and the NBA invited me to join in I found it quite interesting, so I joined the fantasy league.

I've learned that when you join a fantasy league for the NBA, his role will be a team owner or a manager. Choose your own players list of real players in the NBA and form his own team. When your players play well in the real world, you win! when they have an away game, lose it! That is basically the same.

During the night the project, had no idea who to choose. He had seen an NBA game for quite some time so you only knew famous players, which, unfortunately, tend to be older and prone to injury. Therefore, during the first half of the season in the NBA, had players sitting on the bench, waiting for their wounds to heal. Being a beginner, I had trouble finding the right combination of players, always feeling that everything good quality players have been selected by other teams. My team fought beside me, and he went down to the bottom of the backpack.

My first victory came after months of finding out what works. I also had to find a way to select good players, when the release, and how to monitor the disabled list. Here is a list of the lessons I learned while managing my own team in the fantasy league of the NBA.

  1. Consistency. I tend to look for players who are day consisting. One need not be spectacular. You just have to be consistent in day. Most of the time however the All-Star players tend to be the most consistent. Some players have a breakout game and suddenly vanish in mediocre performances. Some players, however, make every day a decent number if they are having a game out or not, whether they are playing through injuries or not.
  2. The offensive. About half of the statistical categories that relate to the offense and field goals made and percentage, 3-points made, free throws scored and percentage, really makes sense to concentrate on offense. When you really think about it, the best scorer of a player is, the more involved in defense too. Sometimes it gets more rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. Of course, there are always exceptional cases.
  3. Extra skill. I like to find players who are good at more than one statistical category. For example, I have players who are good at scoring, rebounding and blocks. They tend to be a forward or a center and can play multiple positions. I also have guards who are good at scoring, assists and / or theft. Sometimes they even are good blocks, which is certainly surprising.
  4. Lesions. Watch out for injuries. If your players are injured, they are practically playing. Is as if the bench. The team will be at a disadvantage, simply because the other team will have more opportunities to do something on the court and contribute to the statistics. Sometimes the injury is not serious, so you can leave in the lineup. However, the players fresh injuries tend to play miserably in his first game back, so be careful too. Individuals can reduce their field goals and free throw percentages and can be a very healthy dose of turnovers. Moreover, the DL also full of opportunities for agile team managers. Sometimes, a team should only release their players injured, because he can not afford to have too many players sitting on the bench. I once saw a team with 5 players on the disabled list. So, once the injured player is released, you can add to it in its schedule for future use. Good to know for how long the injury will take. Of course, you do not want to add a player that will last at least 4 months, or worse, for the rest of the season in the NBA.
  5. Patience. Finally, it pays to have patience in his players. As in the real world required to have a few games out from time to time. It's also good to know if there is a specific reason why the player is having an off game. Sometimes it is due the delayed flight schedule, or a new coach, or maybe the player may be nursing a minor injury. In most cases, players tend to return stronger after poor performance. So do not you drop them off at the moment.

This is a very general list. I still have a long way to go before mastering the art of managing an elite of the NBA fantasy team. I'm still in the bottom of the classification of our custom league. To my pleasant surprise, however, the previous rules simple, I started to win and have a little streak of mine. Perhaps, finally I figured out a thing or two about this exciting world of fantasy league of the NBA. Do you?

Update: After of 5 consecutive weeks to win, my team is definitely out of the bottom of the classification of our league. \ (^ O ^) /
