Reception in a large room like a gym, please help!?!?

We will have our wedding at a gym and lounge. It is 3 / 4 size of a regulation basketball court. How can we (cheap) to reduce the echo in the room so everyone can hear the music and the best toast and yet that the room look good? Thanks!

Put lots of silk plants (ficus) around the room with small white lights in them. Place a pile of tulle. Use screens or room dividers you need. You can even hang a black cloth covered to lower the ceiling height. A lot of fabric should help absorb some noise. Material used as much as you can in the decoration.
