I've noticed these bands along the arms of football player. What is the medical use of them?

It was a huge fad year past to bring forth, but I realized that people do not use them for their style, they continue to use them every game. There must be a medical benefit (such as a knee brace, or small tight bands athletes use in their upper arms), but what is? Here is a photo with the band I'm talking about. ok so heres the story.. a few months ago while i was doing training my partner dislocated my left shoulder foward while doing a arm bar take down.. about a few weeks ago i was playin basketball and i was going up for a rebound with my left arm.. i had my hand under the ball while someone else grabbed it with 2 hands and pulled down and again my shoulder was dislocated!! and it seems as if this will be a often thing with my shoulder the rest of my life!!…… does anybody know where i can buy a very reliable shoulder brace that i can use to do training and maybe play sports without being scared of dislocating it again
